Sometimes you find yourself face-to-face with situations so terrible that you can't help but laugh. It's like your brain tries to understand the sheer magnitude of chaos and just throws its hands up, opting for laughter as a coping strategy.

Dreadful Day Ever
It all started with a terrible case of morning hair. I couldn't figure it to look right. As I was running out the door, I fell and spilled all over the floor. To make matters worse, I was extremely behind schedule for school.

It all started out horribly with a simple mishap/incident/screw-up. But then it went from bad to absolutely terrible. A series/chain/cascade of unfortunate/awful/disastrous events unfolded/occurred/piled on top each other, leaving me feeling like I was in a nightmare/horror movie/comedy of errors. It's the kind of situation where you just want to scream into a pillow.
